Storm clouds were gathering over the distant hills when this view was taken from the road bridge showing the approach to the station and goods yard.
Looking in the other direction this is the completed scene now the station lamps and other details have been added.
Now Llangunllo is finished the blog content will be moving away from views of the layout such as these to concentrate on what is on my workbench, so naturally post are going to become less frequent as it won't be possible to turn out a new model each week. Projects that I'm currently working on include the previously mentioned Airfix autocoach, a Comet A44 driving trailer which has been gathering dust for a good few years. Then I've various Parkside wagon kits to build and new smaller couplings mounts to fit to my older items of rolling stock. Looking further into the future I have yet to decide as to whether my Bachmann 64XX will be converted into 7416, whilst the conversion to EM will be easy enough and the necessary components are in stock I'm still not happy with the splashers and have been experimenting with some replacements made from styrene sheet. I've also sourced a better chimney and the correct cabside plates but for now I'll sit back and wait to see what Chris Gibbons comes up with as regards a replacement chassis.
